How the conversation works
- Microphone audio travels over WebRTC to OpenAI Realtime.
- Semantic voice activity detection handles turn-taking while both sides of the conversation appear as a live transcript.
- The implementation also supports interruptions, corrections and language changes. These recordings show a sequential English interview.
Maria responds live. For this recording, the fictional participant uses the ElevenLabs Aria voice. All 18 questions are completed in the full session. Answers stay in the demo and do not change a real user profile.
